What sets this apart is the dedication to preserving the coffee's integrity through a rare wet factory process, including precise pulping on the day of harvest, careful fermentation, and total immersion in water – steps rarely taken in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

This coffee undergoes multiple levels of sorting, grading, and quality control, both at the estate and by a team in Chicago, ensuring every bean meets the highest standards before reaching your cup.

Indulge in the rich, complex flavors of Sigri's traceable, specialty-grade coffees, a true representation of Papua New Guinea's finest offerings. Experience the difference that passionate craftsmanship can make in every sip.

Elementary Schools
We have funded the textbooks for five elementary schools for six years now and in 2023, in partnership with Deeper Roots, we completed the construction and opening of a brand-new elementary school. Eighty-eight children attend this school which has two teachers, a treasurer, and is part of the national Papua New Guinea school system.

Papua New Guinea has a 40% illiteracy rate which is among the highest in the world, so free elementary schools have a significant impact and help create healthier communities.

Water Accessibility
We have funded and installed seven water tanks over the years and continue to fund them in between our other projects. There is no piping system in most parts of the Highlands, where most coffee is grown in Papua New Guinea. As such, people use water collection tanks that are connected to individual homes, schools, and other buildings to supply that building's water. People who do not have access to water tanks typically collect water from nearby rivers, but this is arduous and can take many hours. We fund and install water collection tanks in these communities that have limited water access. Having access to water helps take care of this basic necessity so people can focus on other, more productive things. A widespread issue for many low-income communities is the time spent in a day doing basic survival tasks and the water tank project directly addresses one of these survival tasks.

Women's Menstrual Health and Hygiene Initiative
In partnership with an organization called QueenPads, we funded and distributed reusable hygienic products for the women involved in the production of several of our coffees.
QueenPads is a women-owned social and green enterprise that is based in Papua New Guinea. They manufacture and distribute reusable women’s hygienic products and conduct menstrual health and hygiene educational sessions along with the distribution of their products.
As menstrual health and hygiene is a taboo subject in Papua New Guinea and access to adequate products is limited, the infection rate among women is very high.
The QueenPads team traveled to various parts of the Highlands where several of our coffees are produced to conduct 5 educational sessions and distribute hygienic products for 580 women in total. Benchmark fully funded this initiative and we plan to continue this project along with the others.
